a week in.

exactly one week from the day tom and anne arrived, we decided to visit jim at the mine.  we got all dressed up in our high vis gear so we'd fit right in.  jim took us on a tour around the mine and showed jim's parents where he lives throughout the week.

side note:  i am just realizing that i never updated you all on my working at the mine.  my last day at the mine was in july right before we came back to st. louis for our home visit.  i am on a holiday visa, which only allows me to work for one employer for 6 months and with all of our visitors coming it just made sense for me to end my employment at that time.  

anyway, the visit was great and gave jim's parents a good taste for what a "day in the life of jim" is like.
